Biography

Amir Masoh is a producer, songwriter, and arranger signed to Universal Music Publishing. Over three decades, he has worked across genres, languages, and cultures — from Singapore to the stages and studios of Asia’s biggest productions.

He started at age three on a battered keyboard his father salvaged and repaired. At seventeen, a Special Teens Award from the Yamaha Music Foundation made him the first non-Japanese performer at their Teens Music Festival in Japan, and led directly to a publishing deal with Warner Chappell. He has since worked across every dimension of the craft: producer, songwriter, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, engineer, A&R, and creative director.

Songwriting

His songs have been recorded by artists across Asia. He has written for Angela Zhang 張韶涵, whose albums have sold millions across the region, and for Jacky Cheung 張學友, one of the best-selling Cantopop artists of all time. In the Philippines, Starlight for Darren Espanto reached No.1 on iTunes upon release. Here I Am appeared on Juan Karlos Labajo’s album JKL, and A Haphazard Adventure 马马虎虎 was placed with Golden Melody Award-nominated Ivy Lee 李艾薇 under Universal Music Taiwan.

Productions & Arrangements

He developed the concept and arrangement for Moonfall, the promotional single for Roland Emmerich’s Hollywood film of the same name, performed by Kelly Yu 于文文. His production of Seribu Tahun for Imran Ajmain charted across Singapore and Malaysia and remains in regular radio rotation more than two decades after its release. He arranged Love Is Blameless 愛沒有錯 for Elva Hsiao 蕭亞軒, and has produced and arranged for Rainie Yang 楊丞琳, Faith Yang 楊乃文, Shin 苏见信, Hebe Tien 田馥甄, and Fahrenheit 飛輪海, among others.

Big Arenas & Concerts

As concert arranger, he has worked multiple tours for Angela Zhang 張韶涵, including the Fable World Tour — 36 shows, over one million people — and for A-Mei 阿妹 and Kelly Yu 于文文. He was appointed Creative Music Director for Sam Lee’s 李聖傑 One Day World Tour across twenty shows in China, Macau, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore. For SEA Games 2015, he wrote and produced four songs for the companion album, including two official theme songs, and contributed to the music for the opening and closing ceremonies at Singapore’s National Stadium.

He received the Creative Excellence Award from the Composers and Authors Society of Singapore in 2018. He is currently focused on bringing his sensibility to the Western market as a songwriter, producer, and collaborator for artists serious about craft.
